Educational Background: I got my Bachelor’s degree from WIU and my Master’s from Saint Ambrose.

  1. Why did you choose teaching as a career? I have always wanted to be a teacher. When I was little I played ‘school’ with my stuffed animals.

What do you enjoy most about teaching? The thing I enjoy most about teaching is seeing the joy when a child learns something new or finally gets a new concept.

Tell us about a teacher that inspired you. My instructor at Ambrose inspired me to be the best I can be and the importance of teaching the “whole” child. She was an example of understanding and inspiring… it is important they know you care!

How do you spend your leisure time? In my free time I like to read, watch movies and go out to eat with friends. I love sports-especially the Cubs and Bears!

Where have you traveled?  Briefly share an experience. My favorite trip was to visit my aunt in Portland, Oregon. It is a beautiful place. I would love to go see her again this summer.

Tell about your favorite vacation spot: My dream vacation would be to go to Hawaii or somewhere tropical…and I like to go to the water park :)

If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why? If I could travel back in time, it would be to my childhood and start over (but maybe skip Jr. High)!

If you could be a character in a movie who would it be?  Why? I would be Bella from Twilight so I could fall in love forever.

Has reading a book ever changed your life? Which one and why? Yes. I have read many books over the years that have either been a source of motivation or an escape at the time. There are too many to mention.

What was your favorite book as a child and why? I had tons of favorites, most of them about animals. I also loved the Little House on the Prairie books and the Nancy Drew mysteries.

What is your proudest accomplishment? My proudest accomplishment has been my teaching career.

What quote do you live your life by? I try to follow the Golden Rule.

What is one of your favorite quotes? “Be the change you want to see in the world” ~Ghandi

You have the choice to live with a gorilla who knows sign language or a dog who sings lullabies, which do you choose? Why? The dog who sings lullabies. I am not fond of Gorillas.

Would you rather have super strength or super intelligence?  Why? I would rather have super intelligence. It seems like I would use it more.

If you could invent something that would make life easier for people, what would you invent? I would invent a cure for Cancer and other terrible diseases.
